Medium Term Accommodation - Bakhita Centre

Medium to long term accommodation, 3 months negotiable to 6 months. Single homeless men and men in crisis over 18 years old.

Top End House, Malak - The Manse Program (six bed, long-term accommodation)

Medium to long-term accommodation. Residential Support for individuals who are experiencing severe mental health concerns. Support is provided to apply for an NDIS package or to move towards independent living. Includes meal preparation, attendance at appointments and social activities. Referrals for this support are only accepted from Top End Mental Health Services (TEMHS).

Top End House, Malak - Papaya Program (nine bed, short-term accommodation)

Sub-acute care program. Residential Support for individuals who are experiencing severe mental health concerns. Support is provided to rehabilitate and reintegrate into the community and move towards independent living. Includes meal preparation, attendance at appointments and social activities. Referrals for this support are only accepted from TEMHS.

Community Housing Service (CHS)

Provides safe, stable and affordable medium to long term independent living accommodation to members of the community that are working towards their mental health recovery Individuals need to be engaged with a Mental Health Recovery Worker or NDIS worker through TeamHEALTH or another approved provider.

Referrals to Accommodation and Other Services

While accommodation is scarce in Darwin, we contact all the Aboriginal Hostels on a daily basis to determine where vacancies exist. We will do our best to secure accommodation for our clients. We will also refer clients to a range of other services and agencies to meet their individual needs.

Sobering-Up Shelter

The DASA Sobering-Up Shelter provides accommodation for people who need to sober up following drug or alcohol abuse and have come to the attention of the police. Breakfast is included.

Independent Living Program

Apartments are available for clients to live in with their family while they still retain the support of the Case Management Team from Aranda House.

Aranda House

Aranda House is a residential rehabilitation facility that offers a 12 week program and an 8 week program for volatile substance misuse.

Healthy Families Community-Based Program

A twelve week residential treatment program for Indigenous people with problems relating to alcohol and other drug misuse.

Intensive Support Programs for Young People

BushMob runs a residential facility for young people aged 12 to 25 years of age, wanting to get their lives back on track without alcohol, drugs or sniffing.

The BushMob residential service provides:
- 24 hour care
- case management
- counselling, brief interventions and life skill development programs
- education and training, and positive life choices

The BushMob residential program requires the participants to undertake alcohol and other drug assessments, receive medical check-ups and receive counselling.
