Also referred to as 'Return to Country', this service assists clients to return to their homelands when they get stuck in Darwin or because they need to return home (within the NT only). The Indigenous Referral Office (IRO) provides these services without requiring cash upfront as our clients do not generally have access to credit or funds when there is an emergency. Our IRO services enable clients to manage their affairs more efficiently. The service is not free and clients typically pay off their accrued debt through gradual automatic Centrelink deductions set at affordable fortnightly amounts.
