Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program

The Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program is a collaboration of complementary services and agencies that is establishing co-located specialist supports such as Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug, Health Care, and other specialist homelessness providers. Mission Australia provides client engagement and case coordination services, as well as throughcare for people who are either living in, or accessing services at the YiSSA facility.

The provision of the accommodation and meals for resident clients is via YiSSA.

Eligibility Criteria: 
To access the Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Service people need to be: - homeless and/or sleeping rough; - visiting Darwin and have nowhere else to stay and would otherwise be homeless. Vulnerable people and children may be accommodated as part of family groups. Individuals under 18 cannot be accommodated without an adult.
Assessment Procedure: 
Following receipt of a referral an assessment will be booked, assessments generally take place face to face at the YiSSA facility but can be carried out over the phone or via video if the situation requires. Decisions are not provided at the time of the assessment and are instead communicated in the days following.
