Housing for Young People Program

Housing for Young People Program

Housing for Young People Program focuses on building young people’s independence by providing support to help them sustain their tenancy, while also encouraging participation in education, training and/or employment. Young people in the program receive a rental subsidy that is reduced each year over four years to help prepare them for renting independently in the private rental market. As the subsidy is reduced, the young person’s rent goes up until they are paying full market rent by Year Five.
