I need...

Food for Life is a not-for-profit program run by Baptist Care NT that offers low-cost groceries to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Food for Life exists to ensure that people in the Darwin area do not have to go hungry.

Clients can choose from a range of products such as frozen meat, chicken, cereals, fruits, vegetables, canned goods, pasta, sauces and body care products that will only cost $1.60 per kiloigram of groceries. Fresh milk for 50 cents a litre, UHT milk for one dollar a litre and a loaf of bread for 50 cents. Grocery items cost our clients significantly less than those in the local retail shops.

A Food for life voucher from welfare organizations worth $11 (which equates to approximately 7 kilos of food) may be used to supplement the cost.

Food for Life has a cafe area where clients are invited to sit down and chat with our dedicated volunteers.
